Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards

Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards is organized by the Interior Design Association of Hong Kong - a member of the International Federation of Interior Architects and Designers.


APIDA Aims

* to promote public awareness of interior design as an important aspect of everyday life;

* to acknowledge / give industry recognition to deserving projects and designers;

* to encourage and promote professional standards and ethics among interior design practices operating in the region.


Profile of Entries

The awards are open to design practices & individuals who have completed projects in the Asia/Pacific Region. This includes Taiwan, China, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Macau, Thailand, The Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, Australia & New Zealand, Hong Kong and India, but excludes projects completed in North & South America.


APIDA's Criteria is 8-fold:

* Originality and Innovation  * Cost Effectiveness
* Fidelity to Client's Brief * Functionality
* Creativity * Space Planning
* Aesthetics * Environmental Concern


The Criteria is highly subject to the Chairman of the Adjudication Panel or individual adjudicator's discretion to change or to add-in.


Adjudication

A shortlist of finalists will be selected in each category by a highly qualified judging panel from a number of business, professional and academic fields. Adjudicators include local judges and judges from oversea / main / and China.


Rules and Regulations

The applicant grants the IDA an irrevocable and perpetual license to deal with, exhibit or in whatsoever way make me of the materials in respect of the reasonable activities of the IDA including using the materials in brochures, website, CD, DVD, books, power point presentation, exhibition, and any other appropriate functions, occasions and printed matters; whether or not sure are commercially sponsored, with a view to making a profit for IDA or for any other commercial purposes.

Projects entered for the this competition must have been completed between July last year and August this year in order to qualify.

The organizers reserve the right to withhold awards not deemed to meet the required standard in any category.

The decision reached by the Panel of Judges will be deemed final.

All materials submitted for the competition will automatically become the property of the organizers, and may be released for publicity purposes without further notification of clearance from the party concerned.

Submissions may be entered into one or more categories.

Each category will be reviewed in two rounds. The first round will select the final nominees, whose projects will then be judged by an International Panel of Judges. The winners will only be announced on the evening of the awards.
